On January 17th 2013 the U.S. Department of Commerce SABIT (Special American Business Internship Training) Program is hosting a delegation of design and construction professionals from the former Soviet Union who are coming to the United States to meet with The Home Energy Detective, Inc. located in Manassas, VA to learn about energy efficiency in residential construction. The group will total twenty two people, including eighteen delegates, two simultaneous interpreters with interpreting equipment, and 1-2 Commerce Department staff.

The Home Energy Detective, Inc. has been featured in the U.S. Department of Energy Division of Building America as a leading home performance contractor for their Building Technologies Program in 2012. This recognition was accompanied by a case study developed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

The Home Energy Detective, Inc. was selected by The Electric and Gas Industries Association, Efficiency First and The Building Performance Industry as one of the companies to emulate in 2011. This accompanied a $50,000.00 award provided by several suppliers and training affiliates.
